Dr Broger completed his medical studies at the University of Innsbruck before specialising in neurosurgery at the University of Vienna. He began his professional career at Bolzano Hospital, first working as a junior doctor and, from 2010 to 2024, as the Deputy Head of Neurosurgery. Over his 30-year career, Dr Broger has performed over 3,000 head and spine surgeries. His contributions to spinal surgery have been ground-breaking and have included numerous technical innovations.
